The Cattitude Trust is a Public Charitable Trust started in 2005 to educate, sensitise and guide people on the specialised needs of cats in every situation- as companion animals, in neighbourhoods and in shelters. We have spent the last 15 years guiding people on evolved pet care and better treatment options, while also working to foster a sense of responsibility towards the welfare and safety of community cats.
With well over 2000 cats (and many non-cats) rescued, fostered, cared for on the streets, treated, sterilised or sheltered. We hope to nurture an even greater movement towards sheltering rescues and bettering the lives of community cats.
While we don’t have an open rescue shelter, we run two homes for senior cats, in Chennai and Batlagundu.
And no, we don’t take in ‘unwanted cats’- our mission is to completely abolish the term one day.
WE HELP YOU, HELP THEM.
TNR AND RESCUE
Cattitude offers aid in the rescue of injured stray cats and abandoned kittens. We enable and educate the program of trap, neuter and release of community cats and those in the care of underprivileged caretakers.
SUPPORT FEEDING OF
Cattitude team members feed and care for many cats and honourable cats in neighbourhoods across Chennai. We also sponsor feeding/ treatment/ spay-neuter of cats in the care of less privileged members of our society who bravely struggle to care for their animals.
SPONSOR MEDICAL AID AND WELFARE OF NEWBORN
We raise funds to sponsor medical treatment of special rescues. Cattitude offers advice and support toward the care of abandoned newborn kittens. We are supported by generous donors who send kitten formula from overseas which we distribute (free of charge) where urgently required.
ADD NINE LIVES TO YOUR OWN
All donations made to the Cattitude Trust go towards feeding and supporting community cats in Chennai and elsewhere, as also in helping to sustain our two senior cat homes. We are constantly in search of ways to enhance and enrich their lives and ensure that beyond good health and safety, they know love and contentment.
We promise to continue raising the bar, working to change attitudes towards cats and their welfare, and creating an ever-widening circle of people who love and understand our feline friends and dedicate themselves to making the world a better place for them.
